Tampa Ladies with MS
Laura McCatty, R.N. , MSCN (MS certified Nurse since 2003)                 

As a B.E.T.A Nurse with MS Pathways, which provides nursing support for those affected
by Multiple Sclerosis; Laura's goal is helping patients learn to "Live well with MS."  She
educates, teaches self administration of immunomodulatory therapy injections and offers
ongoing continued support.  Laura enjoys conducting seminars and support groups focusing
on the wellness of patients and families with MS.  BETA Nurse support enables the MS
client to adhere to disease modifying therapy at a success rate of 88% at 13 months.

Previous to her work in Multiple Sclerosis, Laura's background included neurology, critical
care-coronary care unit and open heart surgery recovery.  She has been an RN for 13 years.

Laura has authored "Bladder Issues" and co-authored articles on "Cognition and Multiple
Sclerosis."  She has spoken to numerous groups including the National Multiple Sclerosis
Society, Multiple Sclerosis Foundation and the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America.  
She also provides education seminars with continuing education credit, "Helping the
Healthcare Professional understand MS" for nurses, pharmacists and physicians.

Laura has had the experience of learning from over 800 people with MS - training and
supporting them in her practice as a B.E.T.A. Nurse.
